Terms

What we owe each other.

Tapline puts your bar’s own menu on your own screens. These terms say what we charge, what we promise, and how you leave — in the order you are likely to need them.

What it costs

Prices can change, but not quietly and not mid-month: you will be told by email at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

Cancelling

Cancel any time, from Billing in the app. It takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for — you keep the service until then and you are not charged again.

We do not bill for notice periods and we do not make you phone anybody. If you cancel by mistake, start again from the same screen.

Refunds are not automatic for a month already begun, but ask. If Tapline did not do what this page says it does, we would rather give the money back than argue about it.

Your account during setup

You get a working account the moment you sign up, before any payment is taken. If you have not started a subscription within three days, editing pauses until you do — and we email you before that happens rather than letting you find out mid-shift.

Your screens keep running either way. A paused account stops you changing the menu; it does not take the menu off the wall. We think a bar that has not finished paperwork should not have a blank television above its taps.

Your content is yours

The menu, the prices, the photographs and the bar’s name belong to you. We store and display them so the product can work, and we do not sell them, license them, or use them to advertise anything.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload — a photograph you did not take or a logo that is not yours is not something we can check. If somebody tells us content infringes their rights, we will take it down and tell you why.

Pricing accuracy is yours too. Tapline shows what you enter. A wrong price on the board is a wrong price you typed, and we cannot be responsible for what it costs you.

What we promise, and what we do not

We try hard to keep the screens up, and the app is built so that a television shows its last known menu even when the internet, our servers, or the bar’s router are having a bad night. That is a deliberate design, not a guarantee.

We do not promise uninterrupted service. Tapline is provided as it is. We are not liable for lost sales, lost custom, or other indirect losses, and our total liability in any month is limited to what you paid us for that month.

Hardware is yours. We will tell you what works and help you set it up, but a television or a streaming box you bought is not something we warrant.

Ending it from our side

We can close an account that goes unpaid, or one being used for something illegal or that puts other bars at risk. Except where the law requires otherwise, you get 30 days’ notice and a way to export your menu first.

If we ever shut Tapline down, the same applies: 30 days’ notice, a refund of anything paid for time you will not get, and your content available to take with you.

The legal bits

Tapline is operated by Northsync LLC, West Seneca, New York. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

The privacy page covers what we collect and who sees it, and forms part of this agreement. Card numbers never reach us; payment is handled by Stripe.

Last updated 5 October 2026. If these terms change in a way that matters, the bars running on Tapline will be told by email rather than by a quiet edit. Questions go to [email protected], and a person reads them.
